Terms and Conditions

Cost of Initial Consultation

The initial consultation is considered one of the most important sessions in psychotherapy and coaching research, as it greatly impacts the success of future sessions. It serves to clarify the topics and framework for our work, and also to explore the personal connection between coach/therapist and client. If no further sessions follow for any reason, I will provide recommendations on the steps that may be helpful for you. The initial consultation is charged at the same rate as a regular session.

Payment Terms

For private clients, sessions are to be paid in cash immediately following the therapy or coaching session. Corporate sessions can be paid either in cash at the end of the session or via bank transfer.

Bank transfers are due within 14 calendar days. Online payments via PayPal, credit card, or Sofortüberweisung are also available through the online shop.

Reimbursement via Health Insurance or Insurance Company

Currently, Austrian health insurance cannot cover the costs, as I am working in Austria as a "Psychotherapist in Behavioral Therapy Training under Supervision."

However, as a registered psychotherapist for Integrative Therapy (MPF) and Psychodynamic Trauma Therapy in Denmark, reimbursements through Danish insurance providers are available.

Session Durations

I place great emphasis on the quality of my services. To maintain this quality, it is necessary for clients to attend sessions at the Vienna or Klagenfurt practice at regular intervals. This generally means:

  • Psychotherapy and Trauma Therapy: every 1–2 weeks
  • Couples Therapy: every 1–2 weeks
  • Family Therapy: every 2–3 weeks
  • Coaching: every 3–4 weeks

It is important that you are primarily based in Austria for an extended period, especially for therapy sessions. If this is not feasible, the quality of therapy may be difficult to ensure, and you should consider whether this is the right time to start.

For scheduling purposes, I need to know which time periods or fixed times are suitable for you and when you can regularly attend sessions.

For international clients, particularly students of the IPSICC International Psychotherapeutic School in Christian Culture who wish to combine self-experience or supervision with a stay in Austria, I offer intensive weeks in German, English, Italian, and Russian, with accommodation available in Vienna and/or Carinthia.

Cancellations and Rescheduling

Booked sessions must be cancelled at least 48 hours in advance. If a session is not cancelled, or cancelled too late, the full session fee will apply.

Frequent cancellations and rescheduling result in additional time and costs for me. While it is understandable that life’s demands can interfere, there are limits to the flexibility I can provide. Therefore, the first two reschedulings of any given appointment are covered by me; from the third rescheduling onward, the costs are your responsibility. An administrative fee of €24 will be charged for each rescheduling starting from the third.

Communication Outside of Sessions

All communication outside of sessions should be conducted exclusively by phone, SMS, or email.

Highly sensitive information, such as medical reports or clinical documents, should never be sent by email or WhatsApp. Please hand over such confidential documents to me in person.

Confidentiality and Data Protection

Creating a comfortable and safe environment is essential in psychotherapy, trauma therapy, and coaching. Discretion and a commitment to confidentiality are a fundamental part of my services. Clients can trust that I take the confidentiality of our conversations very seriously.

Information shared during sessions will never be disclosed to absent parties without your consent, including relatives or other healthcare professionals involved in your care. This obligation is regulated under the Austrian Psychotherapy Act (BGBI No. 361/1990).

Data protection is regulated by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

According to Austrian psychotherapy law, there are two exceptions to data protection:

  • Psychotherapists are required to collect data for client treatment under the Psychotherapy Act (BGBI No. 361/1990), so no prior consent is necessary.
  • Psychotherapists must retain client data for 10 years after the end of treatment (even after a patient’s death). During this period, deletion of data cannot be requested.
Absence for Extended Periods

If you wish to take a break of more than two weeks between sessions, please inform me in advance so that I can accommodate this in your treatment plan and my scheduling.

Since I cannot hold therapy slots for extended periods, long unannounced absences will be considered as ending the therapy. Should you wish to resume later, this may result in longer waiting times for available appointments.

Sessions via Video Conference

Consultation and coaching sessions may be conducted online.

Psychotherapy via the Internet is generally not permitted in German-speaking countries, except during the COVID-19 period. In Austria, this is regulated by the Psychotherapy Act (BGBI No. 361/1990), which notes that "there is currently no scientifically established and evaluated method for psychotherapy via the Internet."

If you are abroad, I can provide consultation sessions via Skype for a limited period. Please note that this is only a temporary arrangement and cannot replace in-person psychotherapy at the practice.
